This painting is an homage to H.P. Lovecraft's Great Old Ones and their
strange place in the darker corners of our world. I decided to give them
the one thing he never did-- a dazzling sunset. The frame of this
canvas was built in a slight parallelogram to convey the feelings of
disorientation brought on by Lovecraft's parallel dimensions. This is the bleeding edge of cheery macabre ::grin::

A photo of the back of this canvas. On the way to this piece's first show, I failed to securely stow it in the back of my pickup truck during transport. It went flyyyyying out and was run over by a couple of cars on the Interstate. It luckily sustained little cosmetic damage and I was able to repair the frame. I just remember looking in the rear-view to see it sailing up into the air and thinking about how funny it was to pour so much time and heart into a painting only to have it die badly and unexpectedly like that. Lucky it wasn't worse.

This is what tabmail looks like up close. This is a basic 4-in-1 pattern. Each link touches 4 tabs. Making tabmail is a very time-intensive process. I make each link by hand and spend a ton of time cleaning and sorting the tabs.
Before the tabs can be used they must be washed and groomed of unwanted debris. Warped, broken and worn tabs are recycled. This takes an immense amount of time.
Tabmail Purse
7" x 7"
I made this dress from complete scratch. I collected all of the tabs, made the links and put it all together over the course of a month or so. It took a very long time to get it right.
Specs: Open back, plunging neckline, single-strap tabmail dress, 7 lbs

So, I've started making these cool dog leashes out of tabs and chainmail. They are sturdy, interesting and shiny. This kind is geared toward dogs that pull. It's much burlier and made out of chainmail with a hand-stitched leather handle sheath.
Length: 50"
Test: 80 pounds
I hand-stitched a tough leather sheath around the chainmail leash handle to make it more comfortable. This was my first leather sewing project!
Upcycled aluminum tab and steel light duty dog leash. Awesome for non-pulling or small dogs. Durable, shiny and unique!

The links in this cube are 3/8" diameter and the dimensions are about 2" x 2" square. I hand make all of my links. It is a time-consuming process but interesting and I enjoy it.
The links in this cube are 3/8" diameter and the dimensions are about 2" x 2" square.
The links in this cube are 1/2" diameter and the dimensions are about 2.25" on the square face by 1.5" on the sides. These bigger cubes take quite a long time to complete.
